“Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life”
JAYA DATTA
Pablo Picasso once said, "Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life". This quote in its entirety captures my passion, approach and feelings towards art. Art allows me to express the reality of the world by making it my own, through interpretation and imagination. And in doing so, it makes the mundane appear extraordinary.
My intention as an artist is to create colorful and simple art that conveys human emotions, evokes positive feelings and can be enjoyed by everyone. Inspired by the beauty of human interactions, my work is an expression of my vision and creativity portrayed through the use of simple shapes, forms, colors and textures, to convey various human emotions that connect us all. I see beauty in everything around me but I paint as I feel it, not as a physical likeness but as the entire presence of emotions and senses. I express my thoughts through human forms and use bright and bold colors. Every form in my artwork has a purpose and is interconnected that allows me to tell a story. Choosing to work in acrylic and oil mediums enables me to be more creative.
I am based in Mississauga, Ontario (Canada).
